    Description

    Licinius I 308-324 A.D.
Born in 263, Licinius I rose to the rank of Augustus of the West, when so appointed by Gallerius.
The edict issued by Gallerius, granting some rights to Christians, was reissued jointly by Licinius I and Constantine the great.
But the two were competitors, and Constantine eventually had Licinius I executed in 325 A.D.
    Reverse reads:
    IOVI CONSERVATORI
    "Jupiter, the preserver"
Jupiter standing left, naked but for chlamys across left shoulder, holding Victory on globe and sceptre, eagle at foot left with wreath in its beak.
