Description
Diademed bust of king left, wearing crown of Persepolis, monogram right / King attending fire altar, legend around on four sides. 23mm, 3.82 grams. Alram 573; Sear flan! The coin was found with a group of drachms (all of Artaxerxes II) all seemingly overstruck on Roman Republican denarii (some undertypes were clear enough to allow attribution). The coin shows traces of undertype on the obverse, and its' extremely large and thin flan probably indicates that this coin is overstruck on another coin (probably a Roman Republican denarius). On Oct 5, 2022 at 08:11:32 PDT, seller added the following information:
