Rare barbarous VIRTVS EXERCITI AE3, imitating Arcadius or Honorius, minted ca.39

Description

No inscriptions, draped, laureate bust right / No inscriptions, Emperor holding spear and shield, crowned by Victory. 13mm, 1.3 grams. Imitating mint of Antioch, RIC X of this type with a clear name are very rare. I accumulated a lot of barbaric coins for analysis for my book, and now will be selling them bit by bit. A full article about these coins will appear in my book about barbarous coinage (no title yet :-) in the end of this coming summer.
